Born, raised, and trained in Germany, Detlev has more than thirty years of experience in hair design and color. After years of apprenticeship and certification, he earned both a Master’s Degree and the title of Master Stylist, the highest national credentials a stylist can achieve in Germany.

In 1988, Detlev brought his talent to the Miami area, where he’s had the privilege of working with celebrities such as Hillary Clinton, Tipper Gore, Nestor Torres and Sally Jessy Raphael. Present salon clients include  talk-show host Cristina Saralegui, who is known as the Oprah of Spanish-language television.

Detlev is committed to education—and this passion extends beyond himself and his staff. As Kin Cosmetics’ Head Educator for the United States, he combines his expertise in color with his dynamic personality to reach and teach stylists nationwide. He’s also a certified business coach who has helped dozens of entrepreneurs grow their companies.

Detlev is currently pioneering an innovative business model involving a small salon with a boutique feel and only five chairs, so each individual client will receive the most personalized attention available. Most significant is the salon’s hours, Tuesday -Friday from 9am – 9pm and Saturday from 9am – 6pm, to accommodate busy schedules. Guided by a strong spirit of service, he looks forward to tailoring his work even more to the specific needs of his clients.
